In English the word Thursday is named for the god Thor. This fella has at least fifteen names (was he a serial check bouncer or something?), wields a hammer (not for carpentry), slaughters foes, drives around in a chariot piloted by goats whom he later eats, has a golden-haired goddess wife but cheats on her with a bunch of lovers.
Frankly, he strikes me as a bit of a dick, although Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel movie version (which I haven’t seen) supposedly isn’t.
But what, pray tell, could this possibly have to do with Habithacking? Not much, except that Thor’s cart—and the goats he eats, but later resurrects (I mean, really…who DOES that) remind us that Thursday is errand day.
Certainly any day can be errand day. I usually do Thursdays, but, for instance, if I have a prescription to pick up on Tuesday, I will make that my week’s errand day.
The point is to conserve resources—your time, your energy, AND the environment, by doing the driving (beyond going to work) all at once.
Very few people I know do this. But if you try it, really give it a go, you might like its efficiency and simplicity. I know I do.
Thor is also the god of thunder: if on Thursdays you thunder through like Thor, on Friday you can frolic, on Saturday you can sleep, on Sunday you can snuggle, on Monday you can…
Must I go on? You get it.
Here’s our buddy Thor hammering out chores bloodier than mine. At least the poor goats are still alive in this painting by Mårten Eskil Winge, Thor’s Fight with the Giants.

I followed your program way back in 2017. I need to get back on the wagon and get my life back in order. I saved all the emails so starting over with day 1 tomorrow. It doesn’t look like you are consistently active anymore. I hope you are doing well.

Hi Julie!
I need to get back on this wagon, too. I always intend to. I’m glad you saved emails. I’ll let you know when/if I get program running. Nice to hear from you, Jean
