Habithackers, a week hasn’t gone by that I’ve not thought about all of you, toiling through the wilderness of daily life, daily life, daily life….and then, suddenly, the corona-verse!
I’d always intended to update Habithacker, and have diligently made notes and plans.
But life changed, and I realized I was going broke.
As you know, I’ve offered my program for free since year forever, when the web was won.
I’ve been paying for this website, these domain names, and especially, for the expensive email sending program each year, to the tune of thousands upon thousands. Yahoo! It made me so happy! I’m such a sucky business person. Correction: I’m not a businessperson, I’m just a creative gal who became popular at the advent of the internet.
Now I’m friggin old and retired.
I’ve got plenty of habit hacking energy, though, so I’d still like to find a way of sending you my daily emails for free. I’m working on that, friends, previewing some programs.

You are so missed
Habithacker says
Thank you so much Yvonne. Glad to see you’re still poking around here.

I am so in need of your energy…
Habithacker says
Or, darling Nancy, am I the one so in need of YOUR energy? You just gave me some!

Hi Jean, I think if your job at the moment is working on Habithacker, then you need to get paid for doing that job. I work, I get paid. I have done many jobs for charities for zero money in the past, which was nice to do, but they’re came a point when I needed to get paid, because I needed the money, plus I think I’m worth being paid for my time and skills. Could you put stuff on an App once, instead of doing daily emails – takes-up too much of your valuable time that you could be spending painting or chatting to the parrot. Charge a one-off amount, even if it’s just £10 or do a subscription. Pay someone to set it up for you.
Sorry for the long essay. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year.

Oh Vivienne, you’re the coach I need. Like many creatives, I’ve got a history of zero money….it’s a number that’s easy to get used to, but hard to live with! Painting? Chatting with parrot? You know me so well. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. Jean

Have you set up anything on Patreon, or Kofi account or anything? I’ve often thought you’ve got the makings of a good book. And that’s my thing so if you want to bounce around the idea, email me.
Habithacker says
Hi Mary. No, I’ve not set that up, but I agree it would be a smart thing to do. And yes, I’ve also thought about a book. In a few months my life will be undergoing some changes that should make it possible for me to get to work again. I nearly gave up the website a few months ago, but then decided it’s worth a last evaluation re how I could make it work out financially. Thanks for checking in. Jean.

Hi Jean, hope you are well. You’re one of the best declutter people out there IMO. A book would be great but what about doing a Podcast or Instagram account for now m, which might be cheaper than producing a book (for now).
Love that you’re still around beavering away and look forward to reading more from you, in whatever form you choose.
Warm wishes from Viv UK

Checkout Kajabi and build the course there, and let the internet pay you back a little. Set it up for a reasonable fee and let it run 🙂 reach out if you need help getting started if you like this idea.

Hey Jennifer. Thanks for the suggestion. I shall check it out this weekend. Jean

Moving to a downsized new house in retirement. Sorting through 35 years of clutter and disorganization hidden for years in boxes and piles behind a wall of major depression. Thanks to good therapy I’m better now, but I desperately need an energy plan for the new house so this doesn’t ever happen again. Retired, only income is $1000/month, but I would certainly do a one-time expense for an app or a program or even a book. Just can’t do any subscriptions – not even the newspaper. Help!
