It’s Sunday, Habithackers, and that means we indulge our creative selves. (You may not have reached this step yet.)
No, you say. You’re too busy. The family needs you. The laundry isn’t done.
Bah to that.
Creativity feeds the soul and your soul needs a snack.
Doodle, paint, knit, write. And as the late Ray Bradbury advises, don’t overthink it.
I’ve heard from some of you that you haven’t yet found your art form. So grab a coloring book. It brings back happy memories and is meditative.
Here’s another suggestion: Forsake Facebook, turn away from Twitter, tame your texting, and use your phone for art. I took almost all the photos on this site with my phone, iPad, or a little point-and shoot. Why? Because they were in my pocket or purse.
The photo above was taken out of my car window at a railroad crossing. While I waited, I also mucked around with some free photo program. The photo is no masterpiece, but it took only three minutes and I certainly didn’t overthink. And had the caboose not appeared so soon, I would have done better.
If you want ideas for Creative Sundays, I’ve begun a Pinterest board on that subject (Look for Habithacker). I also have a board with photos of studios I would sell my husband for. Sorry, honey. Just gotta have that wall full of Expedit bookcases.

So glad you haven’t completely vanished — I enjoyed the old Habithacker so much, even if I didn’t ever do everything…… And good luck with parent care….. I live in UK, parents were in New Mexico, and I once had to leave husband and 4 children to spend 3 months with them, trying to persuade Dad than Mum with Parkinson’s needed full-time dedicated care, not just a nursing student living there……

Oh Carolyn, I can empathize with your situation….though making the trip from U.K. to New Mexico is way more of a jaunt than I’m doing. Hope your parents are doing better now. Jean
